Developed and introduced in 2008 the Quattroporte GT S was the sportiest edition available from Maserati. It was designed with the driver in mind who wanted a sporty ride in luxury sedan wraps. It featured a newly introduced performance suspension system produced by Bilstein, whose reputation is unmatched as the leading manufacture of mono-tube designed dampeners that further accent the Quattroportes mid-engine platform. Combining this package with a re-mapped ECU and TCU’s provides the driver with faster throttle response and quicker shifting times, for both up and downshifts making this QP perform like a true sports car. It was quoted in the press by saying, “If you did not look in the mirror to see a backseat, you would think you were in a 2-door sports car!” Standard equipment was a racy black mesh grille proudly displaying their ‘Saetta’ Trident, Maserati’s 20” Seven Spoke [Razze] wheels and ‘Z’ rated tires along with Brembo Red brake calipers matched to Drilled brake rotors and a drop in ride height gives this car an attitude from the first glance. A sporty sounding deep-toned exhaust system brings this GT S ‘second looks’ on its first appearance. To carry this entire sporty feel and look to the interior; Maserati added Carbon-fibre trim and Alcantara leather, to not only the headliner but to the door sides and seat inserts. Not to be left out as your carve away at the twisting turns ahead, they added Alcantara to the steering wheel to give you the feel of a real high-performance sedan. To bring this all together in the end, they added aluminum racing petals as well, to make this all complete!
